I'll chime in on this. Going to be AWFULLY hard to beat Pur/Conn straight-up.

If a team goes down, I think it will be HOU. As for how the Aggies could do it? Not sure, but they did play inspired last out.

Interesting game. Many Lousiana and Texas kids on both squads. I’m sure they know each other. Houston to A&M is about 1.5 hours. I used to drive the old 290-6 from Houston to College Station.

I view the situational edges too strong for PUR/Conn. But I think it's more of an even playing field for TxAM versus HOU. Houston's first year in Big12, (in theory) teams on equal-footing.

i have zona v purdue in my bracket final a year after zona at 2 lost to 15 seed in first rd last year and purdue lost as 1 seed to 16.

that said, i am not super confident in my picks.

I hate looking at their December game because the tourney is a different but A&M kept it close (70-66) without a key player in Radford. Should be an inspired battle between 2 neighbors.

Johnny, you do make some good points. Here's how I see it:

*Pur/Conn are priced to the moon.
...I don't know how anyone lays those prices today.
...The situational factors are too strong for the Favs to lose Outright IMHO.
a) PUR: will be focused. They don't want another Matt Painter NCAA failure.
b) CONN: NWern figures to be tired. 2nd game playing w/o the 7'0" center.

*TxAM/Hou is the more equitable matchup.
...Aggies have athletes.
...HOU is better. Can they beat them in a one-off game?

Dont see Duke being physical enough to beat Houston.

Best chance will be the Zags over Purdue. Taking the +5 seems a plus.
