Bubble Boy indeed. One other angle I like:
*If a team really feels like they got JOBBED out of the NCAAs, take note. Listen to hear if the Coach spends Monday complaining about it.
Best example = Boeheim complaining about getting shut out. NIT game vs St Bonaventures, I thought they would be un-prepared. Sure enough, Bonnies comfortably hung the +14.

I don't see Indiana State or Princeton getting in. Their kenpom ratings don't have them qualifying and the committee always seems to shortchange the mid-major and small conference teams.

Salud, Ian. I sometimes question the Power Ratings. Mizz Vall used to regularly get in multiple teams.

you can also add USF and possibly Pitt to that list. or maybe even Colorado who has a NET/RPI rating of 24! I'm not sure what metrics or criteria the selection committee uses (it always seems to change from year to year depending on whatever teams they want to see in the tournament all in the name of money, revenue, and tv ratings)...but I would much rather see those teams than the 9 teams from the big 10 or big 12! I get sick and tired of seeing these big conferences put 8 or 9 teams in every single year and sure as hell as god made little green apples, the majority of them are eliminated by the first weekend of the tournament! it never fails. give the little guy a chance. I can almost promise and guarantee you that either Indiana ST, USF, Princeton, Pitt, (insert whomever) could probably beat at least half the teams in the field.

Speaking of the Pitt Panthers, if they don't get in, then the whole thing is a sham and travesty and they should just get rid of the NCAA tournament altogether. the panthers beat the ACC champion NC ST wolfpack not once, but twice! and also beat UVA and DOOK!......and while we are at it, the Mountain West should only be a 2 - 3 bid league MAX! their teams always get their asses kicked in the tournament (sans SDST run last year) and most of their top teams can only win at home and are absolute dog shit on the road!

Ya, Manster. Flaws in the system.
I'm actually not a big believer in KenPom. I LOVE IT when I see a KenPom rating that I view as flawed.
I'm not sure they get it right. Used to be that winning the REGULAR SEASON in a Tier 2 conference was a De Facto ticket in. Indiana St was 17-3 in Conf, that has to count for something.

totally agree Charles. My sentiments exactly. I'm sick and tired of hearing about KenPom (Just who in the hell is he exactly?) Some analytical geek doing his own number crunching using stats, numerical data, etc. and it's a damn shame that he gets all the clout, credit, and accolades bestowed upon him. Very similar to Jeff Sagarin in college football. very similar to Mel Kiper doing the NFL draft gig! like Irsay said many years ago. "Who in the hell is Mel Kiper? and if he knows so much about football then why isn't he a general manager in the NFL?" but getting back to the point, yes the system is very flawed. unfortunately, there's not much we can do about that. it's always been like that and will continue to be in the future. and I agree that the regular season champion of each and every conference should receive an automatic bid to the big dance and be exempt from their conference tournaments! IMO, I think that would be a big step in the right direction to help alleviate some of these shortcomings and flaws within the NCAA selection process.

Not bad, Manster. Think about it:
1) Regular Season champ gets a Bid. EXEMPT from the Conf Tournament.
2) Conf Tournament then becomes a play-in for the remaining teams.
3) Make it a 96-team tournament with the First Round on Tues/Wed. Like the Dayton play-in.
...Think about it. Was that North Carolina's best effort on SAT nite? Nothin to play for.

I'm totally on board except for #3. I don't really think we need 96 teams. it would dilute the product and make the regular season rather moot (to a certain degree). As a matter of fact, I will take it a step further and say get rid of the 4 play in games and go back to the original 64 team format!...

Maybe 80?
If you have TWO automatic qualifiers from each league, that's like 30*2 = 60.
...Would leave only 20 At-large teams.

that would be a more reasonable solution. the the selection committee can select the 20 best possible at-large candidates like they've been doing for years! use strength of schedule, overall record, home-away splits, road victories, quality wins, bad losses, last 10 games played, RPI-NET value, etc. (all of those number crunching stats and numerical tools that they use to determine who is best qualified). but more importantly, at least we are guaranteed no bids get poached because all of the conference champions (both regular season and tournament qualifiers) will be dancing! no one or no team can scream bloody murder or foul play. of course you will always have the debate of those "last four in" vs. "the last four out" on which teams made the cut and which ones didn't, but that's par for the course.

Pitt and Indiana ST get left out. Oklahoma and Sparty make it. that is my opinion on what I think the committee will do on the "last 4 in" vs. "last 4 out" debate and selection. and that would be complete and utter bullshit. Pitt definitely should make it over Oklahoma!...Sparty even though they got a shitty record for at-large candidate, at least played a tough OOC schedule.

While Pitt didn't play that tough of a non conference schedule they definitely are better than Mich St. Sparty basically beat no one but people were sucking their balls all season. Never understood it. They couldn't shoot their way out of a wet paper sack.

I was just telling my best friend on facebook messenger the same exact thing! he is pitt alumnus! I specifically mentioned the OOC schedule and how Pitt fattened up on cupcakes and lost to the three "decent" teams they played from the major conferences. and I told him even though Sparty had a shitty record of 19-14 they played a very tough OOC vs. Baylor, duke, indiana ST, Nebraska, Arizona, and Butler!..that is what the committee has been preaching the last several years or so. I told him it was the seth greenburg argument! when Va tech used to get snubbed all the time but greenburg still scheduled shitty teams! His dumb ass never got the message through his thick head!...

Hello bubble talk. Anyone recommends a non-sportsbook related contest site with volume prizes, and decent. Or maybe it's on a favorite list?

Ya with their non conference schedule I would be surprised to see their name called but I think they should be in. All you have to do is watch them play. They have a team that can beat anyone when playing well.

Johnnie's had one too many L's. you could make an argument either way for them. you could say the Johnnies, Pitt, and Indiana St all deserved to get in over both UVA and Colorado ST!...

Pitino is despised in some circles.
He has a reputation of carpetbagger.
Coach Cal as well.
Mr. Calhoun wasn't very well liked too.
He rarely like 'to play ball' with the 'suits'.

Story I heard was that Calhoun liked the bottle. Not saying that's a bad thing. No judgement.
Heard that Calhoun's liver (at one time) declared itself to be a sovereign nation.
