I really don't understand that. Again, I'm all for the aggressive approach... but points are points and a three score lead is meaningful there. It's not some negligible kick. That pads your lead and keeps some of the momentum. They didn't even run the ball, which makes a conversion all the more tricky.

Anybody watching Detroit knew that stuff would bite them in the ass at some point. First, the call on 3rd down was stupid. 3rd and 5, Goff has been money all day. Throw it for the first down. Instead, they do a give up run for 2 yards on the thought "we're going on 4th down." Fine, but the pressure is higher on a 4th down play and sure enough, the guy drops an easy pass.
