My reaction:
1) The FIRING is the surprising part to me.
...I get the feeling Giannis didn't approve of him.

2) Rivers as replacement doesn't surprise.
...Has some playoff pedigree. And he does have a Milwaukee connection. Was scouted by Rick Majerus and played at Marquette.

My personal take on Rivers: most coaches tighten their rotation as a playoff series gets deeper. He tightens his rotation at the beginning of the series, bringing in fringe players later as the regulars get fatigued. It explains why his teams have blown series leads so many times. In fairness, a coach is only as effective as his on floor talent; whether you start a series well or not is neither here nor there. Ultimately a good people person and motivator -that's a big deal in a player's league.
