#4Not sure about the Browns. I think only JohnnyVegas had the Browns. Everyone else I saw had the Texans as they were celebrating wildly during the game when Brows were losing. But the sample is 7 people so I'm not sure it is representative.Comment -

#6Yup got stung with the Browns yesterday then went large on KC in the second game and made up for it and then some. Got lucky. My play was loading up on KC all week long though so I wouldn't call that chasing.Comment -

#7OK what dumbass had the Dolphins? I've been on the fade the flippers now for the better part of a month, their history shows they suck in December and are even worse when it gets to January. Half the team is injured and they have a fake quarterback running the offense. Now lets get to the -4 game time starting temp. If you thought they were going to cover yesterday, you should probably quit the sports betting thing and do something else.
As far a Houston is concerned, they are the hot team getting points at home in a playoff. Taking the Clowns is always a risky play on any given Sunday, and yesterday proved that extends to Saturday games as well.Comment -

#9I tried to warn them Slurry! (especially Pavy)...I don't how many times I told them about the Dolphins sucking ass in cold weather, (and basically dome and all warm weathered teams for that matter). but especially in freezing temperatures with wind chill factors, and add in all of the injuries the Dolphins were dealing with (into the equation), and it was a recipe for disaster. Hell, I even backed my claim up with empirical and quantitative data, provided stats, numbers, records, etc. to support the evidence but as usual they all laughed at me, scoffed at me, mocked me and called me names!...Originally posted by Slurry PumperOK what dumbass had the Dolphins? #12Well I'll feel better if know one from this site placed hard earned cash on the Dolphins. That would mean that maybe the patrons of this site are learning and applying the lessons learned.
K.C was the books giving you free money and this game is too hard not to take the easy wins.
The teaser I like for today is the LAR+9, Dal -1. Not sure if it is actually still available as I played that a couple of days ago.Comment -

If you're betting MIA on the road in -20 degree weather you have no business betting FB.
As stated elsewhere it's a shame the NFL plays 4/5 months in moderate weather and then subjects their product to this.Comment -

The gist of my post is that the Chiefs were overwhelmingly the public side yesterday and you can crosscheck that with any number of sources. The number didn't move from 3.5 to 5 because people were taking the Fins. Like I said, it's a clickbait title for Homie to promote his teaser.Comment -

Disregard the line move then and strictly look at ticket percentages.
If you think the average person was betting MIA yesterday then you're detached from reality and need to take a walk. Nothing on the market reflects that, from the public betting info to the water cooler talk.
I'm still waiting for you to school me on one person = most SBR bettors. Is that Homie math???Comment -

Pros and joes are not mutually exclusive. Lol, you talk about them as if they're bloods and crips. They're not.
Therefore the public can share a side with "sharp" money. The Chiefs were the public side yesterday, and it doesn't matter how much you want to push back on that for the sake of your precious thread title, you can't bend reality.
Also, public money absolutely can and sometimes will move a line, especially in postseason situations where the card narrows and the lines sharpen, there is naturally going to be far more public action, and the sheer volume of money is enough to move a line.
You're missing layups left and right, Homie.Comment -

#26This is so wrong. When I saw the opening line at -3.5 last week I immediately tried to justify it and I couldn't as I thought the public was going to bet a short Chiefs line so I thought the books would set it up higher at opening maybe at +6.5 to induce Dolphin action. So I didn't bet because I thought the opening line was a set up. But I was wrong. The line didn't matter as the public was going to hammer it due to the freezing weather and having a Miami team playing in North Pole weather (for them). So yes the public can move a line. The sharps didn't move the line as the volume of bets from the public was significant but the damage for the books was already done due to the soft line opening that was made before the weather forecast was available.Originally posted by homie1975sharps move lines, not average Joe'sComment -
