rule change in NFL m ust be done
O T rules NO tied games simple if after the 1st 10 mins they are tied teams go 4 downs no punting

team gets ball on own 25 yard line who ever turn it is no time clock play untill some one wins

no team with a tied game ever won a sb including 1 who got there as a 4.5 chalk the 49ers vs Ravens

i was not fan of ravens but didnt think about tied game with rams thier div rival s/u lost my $550

only had $250 so had to make payments to local bookie who is very nice paid $50 a week

I'm not liking the proposal. Why can't they just keep playing until someone scores? That seems like the best option. All of this get the ball on the 25 and your kicker gets a do over if he misses so long as the ball crosses over the goal line in the air is just a gimmick. Just keep playing football until someone scores. The networks would love it as the commercials would still be there.

I agree, just keep playing. It would have affected 3 games in the last 3 years years. 0 ties this year, 2 last year, 1 the year before. Looking at last weeks games, it looks like 2 scoreless quarters out of 64. It's not that tough to score. Ties are unamerican.

Baseball puts a "ghost runner" on second for extra innings.

For the NFL, put the ball on the 25 yard line. Allow a receiver in the endzone and the defense has to stay at least 10 yards away from him until the ball is snapped.

When we were kids playing in the backyard, defense had to count to 3 before rushing the QB.

How about no overtime at all.
If a game ends in a tie at the end of regulation, then call it a tie.

I kind of like the no punting proposal though you would also probably have to say no field goals at that point too

                  Bill?

Have you ever noticed that the rules in NCAA football stipulate that no game can end it a tie, that's why they have those two points tries after double o/t, whereas the rules in the NFL stipulate a game is deemed a tie after a ten-minute overtime period.

The reason why you never see a college game end in a tie is because the rules say it can't end in a tie.

                  Yeesh.

The Pi call should be the rule changed. Too many teams, throw down field get the call, instant 60 yard Penalty. It was useful at one time get rid of that 10 - 15 yards at the most!

Pittsburg Steelers had a tie game in season and won the Super Bowl in 1974 if I'm not mistaken.

I personally don't like ...."everybody wins, nobody loses."
Sounds like sports day at schools.
Life is about winning and sports should reflect that.

PI and defensive holding should no longer be automatic 1st downs.
