They actually just knelt the ball at the 2 yard yard line rather than even attempting the 2-pointer because as you correctly pointed, their kicker was hurt and rather than risk a pick or fumble for a 2 point score the other way which could tie the game at 39.

I know this because I watched it and had Texans -2.5.

They didn’t exactly nail the total. Houston’s running back kicked a 29 yard field goal with 8:48 left to go ahead 33-30. The bucs scored a td with 46 seconds left to go ahead 37-33. Houston scored a td with 6 seconds left to go up 39-37. CJ stroud took a knee on the two point conversion. Very entertaining game.
