My folks bought a place just across the US border many years ago now and 2 of my friends' parents did as well in the same area close to Mt. Baker in Washington State. When I was younger me and my friends would hang there usually for a night or two in the summertime. We were too you to drink legally in the US but tehy rarely checked. The taverns would have super cheap beers by the pitcher and no one cared what brand it was. They had pull tabs, music, and cheap smokes. They weren't the greatest beers probably but it was beer, cold and it was cheap. So many different brands to choose from. Heck, you could go to a gas station or grocery and get a 24-pack of cold beer for $5 or $6 I remember. I couldn't by a 12 pack in Canada for less than $10 back then and it wasn't refrigerated. So we could grab a cold 24 pack of Ballantine or Pabst, a couple packs of Marlboros, steal the cart from the golf course and cruise around wasted until the Sheriff was called.

We used to call it BEAST! back in the late 80's when I was in my late teens that was our go to! A whole fukkin' case for like $4.99!! Those were the times brother! PS...I should post that pic of me doing a triple beer bong when I was 18. one of only two people in our high school that could do it without spitting or throwing up!

Ha! Mickeys! I remember that! My friends loved it but I was never fond of it. Never tried Rainier. My old man loved the Canadian beers. Moosehead, LaBatt's, and Molson Golden were his favorites! We had a downstairs fridge in our rec room that had a bar in it! It was always filled with Steaks, Chops, and Chicken! and of' course beer!
