I didn't fact check it against the closing numbers but it looks like the under cashed 11 out of the 13 games played today, if you include Thursday, 12-2

#4Seems like Prime-time games including London are almost auto-unders at this point. I wonder what the record is for that overall this year? I just refuse to bet the totals until after mid-season.Comment -

#5Nfl is an under league. Run the ball, punt. 4th qtr kill the clock. Most of these teams play to win 20-17Comment -

You want my opinion on this? I can think of three things:
1) This weekend the fall weather came out. Wind in several outdoor games.
2) I honestly think the NFL office has run out of new rules to benefit the offense. Defensive backs KNOW they can't splatter the WR coming across the middle. DBs are taught to hit with a gentle touch on the defenseless receiver LOL.
3) Lastly, my key point = everything is on tape. Take the example of Schwartz vs Shanahan. Schwartz has played him several times. He's soaked up the tape, I'd argue that you don't see any surprises.
...The top-end Def Coordinators study to the n-th degree. Where are the surprises? Given the preparation, I'd argue that there aren't many.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#16Sports betting podcast I listen to had a book manager from a big Vegas casino on a few years back and he talked about the cyclical nature of things. IIRC, this was +/- 5 years ago and the books were getting killed by all the overs and favorites (which the public tend to bet). He talked about the long walk up to the bosses office at the end of the year and how he had to explain that some years just aren't their year and that's always stuck with me. I imagine the books are doing well this year with all the upsets and unders.Comment -

#18And if there isn't 34 or more football points scored in the second half of this Charger games the under will have cashed 13 out of 15 times this week.
And I thought Goodell wanted scoring.Comment -

#19Does the trend turn this weekend or do the unders keep cashing?

#22Overs are getting difficult to pull the trigger on. The big play has suddenly become an endangered species and if a team eats up half a quarter driving down the field and settles for a field, or worse yet, turns the ball over in plus territory, all of a sudden you're behind the number and playing uphill the rest of the way.Comment -

Defensive PI calls are way down, thus scoring is down.
Last weekend was the lowest scoring weekend in decades, that's been fact checked.Comment -

Also offensive line play is down... I don't have any data to back that up, but most games it seems like the DL is getting the better of the OL, and that's not easy to overcome over a large stretch.
The Dolphins are the only team immune to the trend. Reek, Waddle, and Tua ain't havin' it.Comment -

#25It's gotta be more than that... I still see P.I. getting called and still see the ticky tack stuff getting called for the most part. I think it's schematic. Defensive coordinators are deploying more "shell" type coverages that limit the big play and force offenses to be methodical, hoping that eventually they'll make a mistake to squash the drive.
