Why are college football totals so low all the time??

Miami and UNC was a 57 line. North Carolina avgs 37 ppg and Miami avgs 35 ppg. Neither team has a great defense...game ended up with 72 pts

I see this all the time. Games with 2 great offenses that combine to avg 70 to 80 pts and line is 55 to 65. Why does Vegas do this?

They changed the first down clock. It keeps running like NFL except last 2 min.

I think the answer to your question is pretty obvious. Big totals bettors usually take unders and books can afford the lay on overs which the average public bettor takes.

Miami and UNC actually have pretty good defenses... The game was paced right around the number until the field goal just before halftime. Then the teams hit some big plays in the 2nd half that didn't chew up much time.
