If I wasn't preparing on moving out I would run for Mayor as a Democrat and con everyone but then apply Republican policies immediately once elected.

I do like the weather here though in Santa Monica year round, I can't lie, beach is right down the street and in walking distance. 70 degrees now with a cool ocean breeze with my windows open. I will miss that!

Looking at all the harsh weather in the South and really hot summers makes me cringe a bit! Got A/C?

Santa Monica is still immune to crime and the homeless people. We home owners are the main property tax base and it is still protected by the local police. Many politicians and movie stars live here and don't want to see their community go to shit. That could change in the future though. Beaches and Malibu is still nice!

I will say Northern Santa Monica is still awesome where I live. South Santa Monica not so much. Santa Monica Pier, 3rd Promonade, and Hollywood are pretty much garbage now. You don't want to visit that.
