#4The pussification of sports continues...these guys know going in that it is a dangerous and violent sport, why take away the most exciting plays?
Will the NFL be flag or two hand touch football eventually?Comment -

#5that's already been discussed, LB. Seriously doubt it will ever happen though. I actually hate the new rule changes. I wish they would move the ball back to the original 30yd line on kickoffs. I understand the personal safety issues but football is a contact sport and special teams (kickoff, FG, and punts) units have always been an integral and important part of the game.Originally posted by lakerboyThey will get rid of the kickoff one day and just place the ball at the 25. #9I feel football fans know it's just getting to the point of getting rid of the kickoff. At least they have some kind of kickoff like XFLComment -

#10If they get rid of it the games will become low scoring. Because the players will be fresher for not having to defend all those kickoffs and just be faster and fresher on defense.Comment -

#11To me it looks stupid. I rather them keep it as is or just rid of it completely.Originally posted by SomeDayinBuffaloI feel football fans know it's just getting to the point of getting rid of the kickoff. At least they have some kind of kickoff like XFLComment -

#12As long as they find a way to replace the onside kick. You need to preserve the ability of the kicking team to get possession back, otherwise you take a lot of the excitement out of the closing minutes of many games. Of course, I am sure they know this and will come up with something.Comment -

#13the solution to that is very simple! Just get rid of that stupid new rule they instituted a couple of years ago about having an equal number of men on each side of the ball and go back to the old original format where teams kicking off can line up any way they want (usually stacking up on one side of the field) just as long as they are behind the line of scrimmage. this is very similar to the dumb ass rule change MLB instituted about no more player shifts on defense.
