Texas has a ton of prospects that could certainly get the deal done.

The word in Dallas is that Evan Carter will not be moved unless the know they are getting Ohtani for more than a one year rental.

Since the rumor is out that Ohtani wants a $500 to $600M contract…the Rangers are probably out long term.

Possibly an Owen White or Acuna with another top prospect could do a rental deal. But doubt it will be Evan Carter.

MLB wants Ohtani to be with the Yankees or Dodgers…so that’s where this will end up long term.

Thanks Matty. Was talking to peavy about this awhile back when I found a Joe Montana RC from a family members estate. It’s a bit pricey to get them graded (20-25 bucks each) but agree it’s the only way they’re worth something.

Damn…I remember way back when it was $5-$10 to get a card graded.

I personally have never sent any in…but I bought a ton of them over the years on eBay. Just wish I had loaded up even more….stuff I was buying back then is about 10X’s the price of what I originally paid for them.

i was referring to the OP's "call" that Ohtani was going to be a Ranger.

i believe the Angels received no good offers for him because the teams vying for him might only be renting him for 2-3 mos so why would they give up a bunch of prospects or any great players for him?

he will 100% test the FA market after the season so the Angels are wagering that maybe their recent resurgence can lead them to a very nice finish and maybe even a playoff run which would keep him in Anaheim.
