You cannot erase season after season of feeble fan neglect with with one week
      of feigned participation.

I would like to see the A's remain in Oakland but in the words of The Mighty Jake Peavy,
      "Too little too late".

Why would ownership sell when a golden calf awaits in Las Vegas.
      Sad but true.

I mean no disrespect to those with roots in Oakland, that's not who I am, but why would a pro athlete want to play in Oakland with the old Raiders being the exception.

Hell, even Billy Beane knew he couldn't win in Oakland with that budget unless they adapted to his Money Ball ways.
Seven division titles in 20 years proved he can win with a nothing budget, but Billy isn't a GM any longer.

Hopefully he stays on as an advisor when they move to LV.

Roberto Alomar homer off Eckersley was the best moment in that stadium for me.

Robbie one of my favorite all time players. I grew up in Detroit with family in Toronto. They WENT nuts in those days over the Jays and we had fun watching them win too. My cousin would call us and shit talk my dad drunk off Molson for a good hour. Great times.

People should visit Oakland and they will clearly see all the reasons why people are leaving. Not just sports teams.

I have friends on the west coast, specifically San Ramon I visit every couple of years or so.
                    I know.

What came first the chicken or the egg? Is it the owner's fault for driving the fans away. Or is it the fans fault for not showing up to games. Oakland has lots of nice areas to live in.but yes the majority of the city is a war zone. I always have my head on a swivel when I'm working in Oakland. A lot of tech companies have moved into Oakland the last few years helping the local economy. I don't think any pro athlete that played in Oakland recently ever lived in Oakland.they all live on the other side of hill by San Ramon,Danville area

Robbie was an all time player. Very slick. Not a Jays fan but being local I loved that team. Still remember that pos Bob Costas trying to put them down then they got the last laugh. Gruber was my favorite Jay. Devon White was probably the best defensive CF of his era.

                        When you coming up?

I definitely blame ownership on the A’s end. They’ve always penny pinched. I don’t know the entire story. Oakland does have a few nice areas but overall a rough spot. It’s unfortunate because it was once a great city and has rich history.

Oakland is one of MLB greatest and most historic franchises. Some of the most colorful characters in the history of the game have played in an A uniform.

If the Raiders can move so can the Athletics.

I should start a new thread FADE KC!

They just keep losing and I keep fading and getting paid now. There is always a new shit team to fade in MLB!

About to be on a 9 game losing streak after this game tonight. I'm loving it!

Langeliers a really good catcher. Threw one away there but he's thrown out Rozy 2 nights in a row now. Perfect release and throw.

The temporary winning streak has ended. Could be time to fade again! Shit players return to their roots after the adrenaline wears off...

I'm still upset over that trade....

Alomar and Joe Carter for McGriff and Tony Fernandez...trading a young Alomar was an awful move for the Padres and a huge come up for Toronto.

Back to the A's fade today! Early game, Tampa will play hard to even up the series and leave with their heads held up high. Rays are to good of a team to not get the split IMO!

Alomar is on the short list of our generations all time great 2B.

                                                Morgan, Sandberg, Biggio.

                                                Then there's Kent, Whitaker...

                                                Alomar was a great one,

kc to lose 1 game per series

start the chase by divide to win $100 between the 4 teams.....$25 each

if you make a $75 loss on day 1.....the next day split up the loss between the 4 chases plus $25 profit....18,75+25...bet to win $43,75

Most of that history was decades ago and the fanbase can't really complain because they have had awful attendance for a decade+ now...

That said, I don't like seeing longtime franchises in any sport move cities.

The A’s are strangely inspired & are playing well. Although they did lose last night to TB, they are looking to win their 3rd straight series. I believe they have a slight starting pitching edge today. The Rays are 1-3-1 in their last 5 series on the road & are not world beaters away from home.
