    Gambling is Frustrating Sometimes...
I take a big ML fave in MLB.. up late, crumble in 8th and lose..

I take a big ML doggie in MLB... down 0-4 in 1st, never have a chance.

Take under 8 in MLB.. 2-1 in 7th, score 6 after that and lose..

Take over 8 in MLB... Everyone's a CY young for 1 game only..

Maybe it's just baseball. I know there's positive and negative variance, but do I have to be on the wrong side of em all?

Are you saying. Play ML favorites, but lay the 1.5?? I've been following run lines for years. 30% of MLB games are one run.

Everything We do is frustrating sometimes.

Sounds like you might be pressing.

The old adage of “ measure twice, cut once”, might help.
Don’t force plays. Let them come to you.

              It’s a long season.

              GL.

I have a sea of red in bet history for the last 2 weeks.

                Just part of the game.

Baseball is a long season but it's definitely beatable. Look for spots. Dogs only.

I'm not much of a baseball bettor but there's a chance the Astros could repeat at world series champion. Their haven't been a back to back champion since the Yankees.

                      That's nothing.
Lost 10000-1 parlay by 1 goal.
Lost 500-1 parlay by 1 goal.
Lost 200000-1 parlay by 2 goals.

All one week. Couldn't hedge either.

i just read "the biggest bluff" where erik seidel said don't bring up bad beats to anyone

it's like throwing garbage in someone else's lawn and isn't good for anyone's mental health, the teller or the recipient... focus on making the right bets, the right life decisions, and let the outcome be what it is... yes a bet losing is "unlucky" but we are all lucky to be alive, any one of us could've died in an accident yesterday!

Sports is a tough game to beat. Very tough.

I'll echo Milw Mike's thoughts. Life is a gift. Enjoy it. Treat past results as a SUNK COST, if you will. Focus on making the optimal decisions going forward.

A wise friend said that he thought the term BAD BEAT was badly over-used. In his mind, BAD BEAT was a term that you could only use if your action was 98%+ at some point...and your play still lost. A rare event where you landed on the wrong side.

In NFL week 18 (from 2022 season), I had Colts -2 and Jets +3.5. In the closing moments, I do believe my expectation was >95% on each side. But both managed to lose, it happens.

In poker terms, the only suckout that gets to that level is the old one-outer. Unless you count some extreme runner-runner situations.

I was playing a poker hand. My 55 flopped bottom full-house on 566 board. I turned quads with a 5. 7(clubs) on river. Opponent made Straight-Flush, I lose.

Hansen vs Negreanu hand comes to mind. Hansen turns quads. Could you fold Negreanu's hand on the river?

Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Post 14, it's an amazing hand. Daniel is a skilled player:

*On turn. Daniel knows he might be beat. But also knows he's beating value hands like:
                              56, 59 and 78.

*On river. After the check-raise, I really think Daniel knows he's beat. But how do you Fold?

Are you betting with an edge? All that matters long-term. 4 games means nothing.
