"A bill that would legalize sports betting in Kentucky passed the state Senate by a 25-12 vote Thursday evening.

With that vote, House Bill 551 now heads to Gov. Andy Beshear’s desk, and the Democratic governor has repeatedly stated he would sign the bill into law.

Once Beshear signs the bill, Kentucky would be the 37th state in the US to legalize and regulate sports betting."

The one prop for online betting was actually opposed by both California Republican and Democratic parties. And if I recall correctly, the other prop backed Indians casinos was only supported by Democratic Party. So even th legislation pathway won’t be easy.

Off the top my head, Arizona is one and I’m sure there’s more. However, California Indians compact gambling is probably the strongest deal between states and Indian tribes that it will almost impossible to get anything pass without their approval. Which is different than other states with Indian casinos.

Gambling is probably the only issue left that both parties are split on, pretty amazing. Every other issue we have is partisan, this one, you have no idea what each lawmaker will vote.

In NC last year, a Democrat was leading the charge and another Democrat was the last vote that killed it.

Wisconsin - The Indian casinos are running it! Only place you can currently sports bet. Oneida in GB started last year, Potowatomi in Milwaukee starts with kiosks today as a matter of fact. Full blown Sportsbook will be up and running by January 1st, 2024 - Putting the SB in the old theatre space.
