It was a fairly straight forward point. The BLM crowd associate more with him than they do with the Nigerian-Greek. Anteto' has a good work ethic and he doesn't ask for favours or complain or go on about mental health...

#38Embid/Harden/Maxey is a pretty good core, if Tobias Harris can get it in gear, and he's shown flashes that he can then the Sixers will be handful for the C's and Bucks.
But the chemistry doesn't seem correct to me.
I don't hate on Embid, but Joker is my guy.Comment -

#39Harris has shown flashes since 2011. He is what he is, he’s not going to figure anything out now. He should be coming off the bench but he’s paid so much. The chemistry on the team is definitely an issue but so is the coach. This is how most of their recent seasons have gone. Team will do pretty well reg season, sputter at the end, then underperform in the playoffs.Comment -

#42BLM, Afro-American... these things matter in politics, and if there's voting involved then it's certainly politics.
Bryant/ Iverson had a similar thing going on a couple of decades ago. Iverson had the black vote because Bryant had spent time in Italy and generally conducted himself in a formal way. This is fairly well known stuff -not going on some conspiracy tangent.Comment -

"He's European, which makes me love him right off the bat because I think those guys are unbelievably well-coached and overall understand the game better than most of us here," Popovich said.
More accurately, if we swerve the political correctness, he loves European players because they're more intelligent and unselfish than Afro-American players. Me too! That's not to say that there aren't Euro players that don't have a high IQ (Hezonja) or Afro-American players that don;t read the game well (Kyle Anderson), but there are some rather obvious trends when it comes to ethnicity and to say otherwise is frankly absurd.Comment -

#48I like intelligent players that play unselfishly. They tend to be European. Sorry this offends you! I heard Popovich say recently of Mamukashelli:
"He's European, which makes me love him right off the bat because I think those guys are unbelievably well-coached and overall understand the game better than most of us here," Popovich said.

#49Silliness? What part did Popovich get wrong in your opinion?
"He's European, which makes me love him right off the bat because I think those guys are unbelievably well-coached and overall understand the game better than most of us here," Popovich said.
That European players are well coached, or that they understand the game better?
If they're better coached then why are there no European head coaches in the NBA? Why has there never been a coach from the Euroleague transition into the NBA?
If it's the latter then go watch some film lolComment -

#53I mean, I think I'd agree that stylistically the eventual NBA players who came from Europe seem to be generally unselfish and very good at team bball. That could be for any number of reasons, but it's fairly consistent with what I've seen
However, I don't believe that American players who are black are any more selfish than American players who are white. It usually just comes down to individual strengthsComment -

#55The MVP award is decided by a panel made up of 100 NBA sports journalists and TV broadcasters.
The unofficial criteria for voting is 'who is the player responsible for carrying their team to victory'
Denver has a three game lead in the West Conference, and that's pretty much all due to the play of Jokic.
Philadelphia is in third place, closer to fourth place than the second place team in the west is to overtaking Denver.
Embid has a much better supporting cast than Jokic has in Denver.
You can argue that Embid plays better defense, you can argue that Jokic is the better distributer and shooter.
(Jokic FG% IS 63 percent compared to Embid's 54 percent) Jokic averages 12 rebounds per games, Embid, 10.
Jokic is more valuable to Denver than Embid is to Philadelphia, and that is the essence of the MVP award.
The 'V' in MVP, valuable is the operative word.
Now, getting back to the 100 man panel that votes, I highly doubt there is a movement like the BLM, orr any other underground grassroots movement that secretly gets to the voters behind closed doors and tries to influence the aforementioned 100 man panel to vote one way or another.
To suggest there is racial bias here is well, just flat out ignorance.Comment -
