*Two that come to mind that (again) overlapped the Bird era but were about 10 years younger than Bird. Jeff Hornacek and Mark Price.
*Once you get to the time after Bird retired, it's really slim pickings. You get to the likes of Brent Barry.

Why is that? I think the American has the cards stacked against him compared to the euro player. Growing up there's a lot of stigma on the basketball court and even some reverse racism. you have to be really mentally tough to get through those obstacles.
