I'm back from a hiatus and I feel like I'm starting from scratch

I'm not only back from a two year or so break but I feel like a Rip Van Winkle as far as looking to find any new or newer tools and/or resources to jump back in.

I almost feel like i should be put in the newbie section. On a serious note, any pointers on where I can get a "feel" for what's going on in (Now that Football Season is over) Pro and College Basketball primarily? I feel so out of place for some reason.
