    PGA wagering?

PGA season is in full swing. There's money to be made. Is there any regular golf bettors out there? What's your approach,do take shot at a big pay day winner? Micro bet some outright winners, top ten, top 20?Match play only way to get -110 but every book has different match ups

    Nate:

*I think there are some guys that turn a profit on the Outright Winners market.

This always surprised me for a few reasons:
    1) Outright pools are normally juiced significantly.
...Add up all the 1/xx odds. It often sums to 140%.

    2) What's the strategy?
...There's a saying in Horse Racing: "Horses for courses."
...Have heard the same thing about Golf tournaments.
...Think about it. Each course has certain elements that play to a given player's strengths.
...In particular, the long/short game should stick out. There are some long courses where the guys w/ less length simply can't compensate. Flip it around on trickier courses where a guy with good short/putt game thrives.

Anyway, it's a great question. I could see a strategy to win on the H2H matchups. And some bettors seem to do well by identifying players who figure to do well that particular week.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Golf betting definitely my favorite and by far my highest volume. Usually sprinkle a few E/W outrights each week for entertainment money, but majority of bets are on top 10/20 and matchups (72 hole & 18 hole) and daily 2/3 balls. Open accounts at as many sportsbooks as you can, as you will see a wide discrepancy of pricing and can cherry pick the best odds.

If you are serious about golf betting, I would recommend a Datagolf subscription. It is an awesome product and helps identify only +EV plays.

Keen to get some weekly threads going this season

I enjoy betting the rounds match up, for example today ** vs Rai and Thompson vs Grillo are both at -110. No action today though, Friday's are my least productive days when it comes to wagering.

One of those weekends where the LIV golf is definitely better than PGA. Will be tuning in there more and maybe wagering some cash. I like Cam Smith at 12-1 sitting in 10th place. Also Carlos Ortiz is 12-1 just two back.

Some good info here, thanks Andy - how to you generally do, profit wise for the season? I've made some money on golf in the past but didn't bet it much last year. My fav bets were finding a top 50 guy who just made the cut on the number, preferably by birdie-ing one of the last couple holes to get in the weekend. Could usually get great matchup odds against lesser players, and many a times the top 50 guy goes off in the 3rd bc he's got nothing to lose and thought he was going home. I'm gonna start keeping an eye out for those situations again. GB!
