Lakers Were Able To Unload Westbrook
The trade will send Minnesota guard D’Angelo Russell to L.A., along with Utah’s Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt. The Wolves will get point guard Mike Conley and draft assets, while Utah will receive Russell Westbrook and a 2027 first-round pick from the Lakers that is top-four protected.

In addition, the Jazz will acquire Juan Toscano-Anderson and Damian Jones, and Minnesota will add Nickeil Alexander-Walker, sources tell Wojnarowski (Twitter link). The Wolves will also obtain the less favorable Wizards-Grizzlies second-round pick in 2024 and Utah’s second-round picks in 2025 and 2026.

Westbrook will probably get bought out by the Jazz, and sign with the Clippers. No way the Jazz keep Westbrook after his problems in Utah.

Ainge dropped the ball on this one. Could have gotten at least an unprotected pick over the summer when the Lakers were ultra desperate

This is a massive win for LA giving up only a protected pick

They're a joke but how can you hate this trade ?

You got a starting PG in Russell and two solid rotation pieces on top of that. AND you unloaded Westbrook all for just a protected 1st

Why do teams help out the Lakers why can't they be more like the Nets GM. Who said I'll trade Kyrie to anyone but the Lakers.

100%. I wouldn’t deal with any of these major market teams if I were a smaller market. Why help them out? They already have an embarrassment of riches and geography.

Minnesota is still the Lakers triple A affiliate.

Exactly what the players were thinking while they tanked the 2nd half.

But yeah, Utah always wanted to tank. The players messed it up a bit. So now they try harder to tank. Jazz just collecting picks.

Pretty sure the Lakers would have let Westbrook walk as a FA this summer if they didn't get a good deal for him.
And what about this season. They were willing to just punt it away ?

Can't imagine that would have sat well with James

I don't think the Lakers really give a shit what LeBron thinks.

LeBron forced the Lakers to get Westbrook in the first place.

I think there's a coin flip chance that he won't even be on the team in 12 months.

when he was with dc and he could drive and dish to beal, they were a natural. he was at his best at okc. at lakers, the guy comes off the bench. the team even with lebron james and brow can't do anything.
