Goff is the man! He came on extremely strong at the end of the season for the Lions. He gets my vote for sure even though he won't make the playoffs. Lions have next season to look forward to now with Goff at QB!

Systems and coaches make QB's. Look at Russ Wilson for example in Denver now compared to his play in Seattle over the years. Wilson will never be a great pocket passer only like Tom Brady. Denver tried to make him that.

Solid offensive lines and a good running game also make QB's great along with a decent receiving core don't get me wrong. I still lean on systems and coaching up to be the most important aspect with these journeymen QB's that float around the league and when they finally settle down and play well..

I could say the same about Goff though. What is he "coming back" from? Being the #1 pick and reaching a Super Bowl → being the QB of a 6-7 team? Wow, so impressive

The stacked Rams dumped him as he was playing like absolute shit and about to bounced out of the league or a back up at best, now he's playing like an all star for the Lions in the second half of the season on a very average team. That's called a come back.

Comeback player of the year is essentially best year relative to last year's performance; has to be Smith on merit and the fact that today's media would love to give the award to a black QB doesn't hurt.

depends on how you look at it. mccaffrey just went against the 2nd worst rush defense in the league while geno faced the best defense in the league

they are below middle of the pack against the run. fan of cmc but geno has just had a better and more surprising year imo. cmc has had 6 games where he hasnt rushed over 40 yds while geno leads the league in completion percentage, 4th in yds, and 3rd in tds. Im not sure either if cmc should be in the discussion, he played half the games last year and had the same avg rushing and receiving not like he had a bad year.
