Messi dealt with much tougher against the Germans in 2014 though. That team quadruple teamed him in the final, no one has ever done that on a soccer field, ever. That just shows you Messi is the best ever and it's not close. His squad isn't great this year but neitehr are any of the other 4 teams, this is probably the weakest semis in a few decades, so anything is possible. Croatia is just a team that plays for 1-0 victories, I don't think those teams deserve to go through. Let's see what happens.

It's pretty maddening they haven't figured out how to pair Dybala with Messi. It's tough to leave a top 50 player in the world on your bench. But if they win it all, no one will second guess it. Germany " quadruple teamed him in the final " LOL Basten Schweinsteigger owned Messi one on one. IF you look it up , you will find that he shut him down with Bayern ( i believe it was 7 - 0 over the 2 legs in 2013 and continued through his career ) . I am very respectful of Messi's abilities and rank him as 1 of the greatest to ever lace up boots , but Basten took him on by himself and won their battles. I believe he was 8 - 0 against him with Bayern/Barca and Germany/Arg.
