What happened to Louisville? They were terrible last year, Mack and Louisville parted ways in Jan and an assistant coached the rest of the season and they finished 13-19. 4 of their players who saw significant minutes hit the portal. They went after a new coach with no experience in Kentucky-Calipari assistant Kenny Payne who was known to lure big recruits to UK. Unfortunately that didn't work at UL as Louisville is an Adidas school not Nike. Also Kenny didn't get anything from the transfer portal including a PG so they play with a SG as point. Bottom line is it's bad, what was once 16-19,000 in the stands has dwindled down to 3-5k in the stands and the basketball is the most WTF are they running thing I've seen. Their going to have to part ways if they don't want a Patrick Ewing situation at Georgetown.Comment -

Payne is over his head. I don't know how deep they went with the search but I think a few coaches backed off because they didn't know the fate of the program back in March. Pearl seemed to only use the publicity to get himself a raise at Auburn. At the time of hiring though Louisville had no president and an interim athletic director.
Bellarmine actually isn't bad. Former D2 school with a good coach that coached at Louisville Ballard high school and worked under Crum and Pitino. It's just bad bball all around and his buyout is 10 million so don't look for that to happen after this season but you're also losing money when fans don't renew season tickets and aren't coming to games where they lose by 15-20.Comment -
