Who was the last decent coach they had before Mora ?

Maybe Randy Edsall the first time

Edsall took them to the Fiesta Bowl in 2011, only to get schooled by a real program by a real coach (Stoops)
Don't get me wrong, Edsall did all the right things in 2011 with a *very* talented defensive group.
That team was all defense, I bet you couldn't even name the starting QB, WR1, or RB1 from that year.
(Hint, wasn't Dan Orlavsky either, the best QB ever out of UConn but he was '04)

Any way, in 2011 Edsall got blown out opening day to Michigan, was like 4-1 or so when we got blown out by Louisville, had to run the table (which he did) to win the Big East, but had to pull a miracle out of his ass to beat Pitt at the final whistle.

Then Edsall carpet bagged it to Maryland, he believed the hype that he as 'all that' and by doing so pissed off every football fan here, got crushed in the ACC, Maryland couldn't fire him fast enough.

When Edsall left, he bludgeoned the program back to the stone ages, what happened was when Edsall quit, all the 2012 recruits rescinded as well. PoS.

I'm still scratching my head why the AD, President, and board brought him back the second time.

Mora's got the whole state buzzing again.

Army (@West Point) opens -10, 43.5

I may be long winded (the hell you say)?
I'm not the end all, be all, hardly.
But I do watch as much of the academy games as I can being from a career military family.
You all know by now I am an all everything Connecticut homer.

What am I missing here?

Forget we are a Navy family and can't stand Army (football only) and give West Point 3.5 points for their home field advantage.

Having said that, putting this game on a neural field, Army (IMO) is still not a TD better than UCONN.

Army is three and six, they beat a real crappy Villanova team, an even crappier Colgate team, and UL Monroe that couldn't win a game outside of Louisiana even if you spotted them 4 TD's, and lost to Troy last week, even though 8-2 Troy is not a bad loss.

Army was hanging 40 plus burgers at the start of the year has all of a sudden stopped scoring, they're not my daddy's wishbone triple set offense any longer, but still, +10? Either the books think UCONN is still not all that and Army is better than what they've shown, or the books think UCONN is ripe for a let down, I'm still missing something here.

Early in the season UConn had 1H Team Totals of +0.5, -0.5 or +1, -1.
