Nice acquisition, they need some more juice on that defense.

The Ravens are giving up 2nd and 5th round picks in 2023 for him. It's a slightly high but fair trade price. The Bears aren't paying any of the remaining contract, (as the Broncos did with Miller in the Rams trade), so that isn't increasing the trade price. The onus is on the Ravens to re-sign him or not spend in 2023 free agency in order to recoup a 2024 compensatory pick.

Good trade for both teams. He should instantly help that defense.

There is a high chance that nothing comes out of that 2nd and 5th round pick. NFL teams are lucky to hit 1 out of 7 picks in the draft. Even 1st rounders aren't a sure thing. Getting a top 10 LB in the NFL for the equivalent of high school players is a slam dunk, not sure what you're talking about.

Yeah trade seems pretty fair and I like it for both teams.
Bears might as well get as much draft capitol as possible in the coming years. Fields has looked a bit better the past few games and Herbert is a player. I would beef up the oline and get at least one more WR and they could have the makings of a decent offense next year. I like how the coach has had Fields running more the past couple of games.

It's all about timing and cost. Productive young players are worth more than productive veterans making 20 mil. Roquan is a FA after this season and wants to be paid as a top LB. Only reason Balt did this is in hopes he helps put them over the top this season. After this season, they lose this trade, because they either have to pay him the big $$ or let him go.
