i have had an IHSS provider for 21 years now.have not hao wash my own clothes in all that timen my provider drives me everywhere in her own car.plus exquisite home cooked meals.just a great way to live.

Again, biggest concern is the "Dirty" transfer. I don't care if everything shines if I know the same rag they wiped shit out of my bathroom with is on my food prep surfaces. Am I just nuts? I've seen it in work settings vack in the day. To me, not worth the risk!

This is a hotel service thing, it’s what the maids do in hotel rooms.

If this is happening with your housekeeper you got the wrong housekeeper.

Most housekeepers will do what you ask them to do. Instruct them to use a toilet brush on the toilet. Give them wipes/rags for the bathrooms and separate ones for the kitchen. You can tell them NOT to clean your man cave. Plus, if you have cameras everywhere they know not to do dumb shit like rub out their vagina with your toothbrush. Lastly, if you are pleasant, treat them with respect and pay them very well, they will bend over backwards for you and ensure you are very happy. Maybe give you a hand job when the wife is on a long vacation.

We've had the same housekeeper for the last 20 years. Polish woman who does an excellent job. Never had any issues with stuff missing or skipping out on cleaning. I even went through my house once with a clean towel looking for dust. Nothing.
Bottom line is hire somebody you know or get a reference from your family or neighbors. I would never trust a large cleaning company that sends different people all the time.

My housekeeper understands not to come over when my girlfriend is there. We have a very good cleaning relationship.

Have housecleaners come out once a month to do Deep cleaning. Well worth it imho. Im never going to deep clean showers, base boards, stairs, hardwood floors, etc

Cleaners come in once a month. Probably every two weeks would be better but it's $200 each time (2500sf house in Maui where things are expensive). I definitely put anything expensive away to prevent temptation. I've never thought about the cross-contamination aspect. The group that does mine brings 2 or 3 people and different ones do bathrooms and kitchen. I like it because it motivates me to pick up and organize before they get there.
