They probably won't be able to find who tweeted it. It's so easy to create phony, anonymous accounts. And if they do, most likely the person who tweeted it doesn't have a pot to piss in.

No other evidence, no questions asked?

Do you imagine the club is so legally clueless to open themselves up to legal action by acting that way?

Do you think Cole would not have already fired back legally if the club had acted as crazy reckless with his reputation as you say they are?

I don't know any more than you, but within 10 secs of reading that, those issues seem kind of obvious.

If I was to make an assumption like you are, it would more likely be that it was probably common knowledge inside the club for them to act so fast and decisively.

Yes, the club said that. They have not investigated this issue yet. It is ongoing but in the interim, they decided to suspend him. The club and the NHL will meet with him in person to get his side of the story. Unless they are hiding something they are not telling us, why would they suspend first, then investigate? Just seems wrong if all they have is an anonymous Tweet???

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ian Cole will have an in-person interview on Wednesday in New York as part of the NHL's investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against him, sources told ESPN.
Cole will be interviewed by Jared Maples, the NHL's chief security officer.
Cole was suspended by the Lightning on Sunday after a Twitter user who identified herself as Emily Smith posted that she was sexually abused and groomed by Cole when she was a minor. In a statement released through his agent, Cole said he would cooperate with the investigation and "looked forward to clearing my name and demonstrating to the NHL and the Tampa Bay Lightning that these allegations are unfounded."

I get this feeling the Lightning weren’t surprised by this to be honest. I guess he wasn’t very well respected by a lot of Lightning fans for things he’s done in the past.

Maybe it’s all bullshit, but you hear a lot of abuse going on in Hockey.
