2 dead, 6 injured in stabbing on Las Vegas Strip

UPDATE: Las Vegas police Capt. Dori Koren said officers received multiple 911 calls about a stabbing near Las Vegas Blvd. and Sands Drive at about 11:40 a.m.

Capt. Koren said officers responded to the scene, and with the help of security partners, were able to take the suspect into custody “very quickly” and were then able to render aide to the multiple victims.


Capt. Dori Koren said that as of now, there were eight people stabbed and one suspect as part of the incident.


Of the victims, Capt. Koren says two people have died and three are in critical condition. Police say the remaining victims are in stable condition.


The weapon that was recovered, according to Capt. Koren, was a “large kitchen knife.”

what i've noticed on the strip (especially vs 10 and 20 yrs ago) is way more blacks, and way more busted escalators

also there never used to be as many random bums just sleeping on the sidewalk in front of major properties, with their pile of garbage

20 yrs ago there were way more hispanics (little kids too!) slapping their nudie cards on their hand and then shoving it in front of you... but the strip, and downtown felt a lot safer then

that's weird, i have gone to vegas 30+ times in the last 30 yrs... my memory might be bad but until the past few years i can't remember this many people just lying on the street in the middle of the day, and taking up large chunks of real estate on the strip with their blankets and other garbage

you're pretty much the only person i've talked to that says it isn't worse, it's not as bad as san francisco but 5 yrs ago you would've never seen a syringe on the sidewalk on the strip
