Yeah; didn't bet the game, but I think the home dog on Mon's and Thur's have done pretty well for many years.
Angles like that stop eventually though.
All that money which bumped the line up was square money?
Big day Sat..................

It’s game 1 of the nfl season, sharps don’t get buried this early. Everyone knows the books need the squares to win early in the season. It’s what hooks them the rest of the year, the thought that they can recreate the magic from the early weeks of the nfl season.

Stafford is who he is. Don’t let that mirage last year fool you. Perfect storm.

What sharp was on a lukewarm home dog?
+2.5 is pointless to take the points, either they were going to win (ML) or no play at all.

I think Vegas was hoping public would be all over Rams -1. And it would slowly climb to -1.5 and -2 Rams. It didn't go as planned.
What's surprising is... Public was all over Rams +2.5 and ML... possibly even buying it to +3?? We really don't know? Some services are indicating money evened out by game time last night.
So the huge early hit on the Bills was strong... but on the day of the game... people hit Rams strong.

Shot, I have to compliment Lakerboy on playing the Bills last nite. He had a "read" on the line.
At one point in time, NFL Home Dogs were pure money. I have to look up the time-frame. But I think NFL HDs approached 55% ATS over a 20-year period. Circa 1985 to 2005.
I have to think back to the one year where that changed. People started to know about the NFL Home Dogs. The books shorted the #, and the HOme Dogs ran 35% that year.
I do think the "Home Dog" concept is outdated. Now, it's just a matter of extracting value. You can't rely on the Home Dog to be +EV.
The part I compliment Laker is that this would (seemingly) have been a tough trip for Buffalo. HOW GOOD does Buffalo have to be to go West and rip thru the -2.5 easily?
Anyway, I could pontificate on this all day. Will be looking fwd to see just how good the Bills are. 15-2 or better?
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Not in the long-run. In the short-run, sure.

Remember the Pack getting smoked 35-3 on opening week last year? They turned out fine, it's only one game.

The Rams lost by 17 at home to Ari last year and by 21 at SF, they ended up pretty well; anything can happen in one game.
