I think they are using the Ontario market as a test and to show regulators in the US they deserve a shot at becoming legit.

In the meantime I'll be signing up for my shiny new pinnacle.ca account as soon as I'm able.

Ontario is a sizeable market with ~13 million people and lots of visitors from the US that can now bet at Pinny while located within Ontario borders, which is a huge area.

LOL, they have at least 5% in Ontario already WITHOUT a licence or advertising. What the hell are all these newbies to betting going to do when they discover they pay half as much juice at pinny? It's an easier sell than a cold beer on a hot day.
Ontario is very different than the US. Pinny had a headstart on the American companies here versus the reverse in the US and Canadian consumers are less vulnerable to the "buy domestic" tactics.

they will change their model to offer bonuses and jack up the lines for ontario site. dont see how they will attract ontario players without it.

all non rec players in ontario already know how to access the site still without going through the ontario site.

That would be stupid. There is no way Pinnacle could beat Fanduel by trying to become Fanduel. At this stage, if any new operation wants to make inroads, they have to disrupt the market by doing something different. Pinnacle's model is in their DNA If they do something different, it's not Pinnacle and then what's the point.

No book can come in now and try to outmarket Fanduel and Draftkings. Maybe offer a better, more competitive product and see how it goes.
