She ain't retiring. Very few athletes can walk away from the game they've played since childhood. Even boxers can't stop the allure of just one more fight even after they are punch drunk. I never liked Serena because of her grunting during play, bad attitude and lack of eating discipline. Has nothing to do with the color of her skin. She's not very likable period and never was IMO.

Did you see that crowd? Those folks loved her. You may not care for her but the masses love her. People like and respect greatness.
But I know you loved Johnny **??? Didn't you? He was easily one of the most hated. Although I loved him too. I copied my serve to McEnroe. Most high level athletes are unlikable. People hate Nadal, Joker, Kyrgios. Also Serena came into tennis when women grunted. Sharapova was the absolute loudest. Often, she'd grunt AFTER she hit the ball. It was pretty bad a decade ago. It really took away from watching the game.
