#10I think I know why.Originally posted by VeggieDogTBH, I didn't know he was still alive. RIP Lenny.

Lennie Dawson just went out and got it done.
None of this self hype crap, none of that "Hey, look at me crap"
Quietly, without fanfare, just went out and got it done without self promotion, and got it done better than 99.8% of everybody else that did, or try to do what he did.

So, if you weren't paying attention you might not have noticed the greatness that he was.
His actions spoke to his greatness, others spoke and wrote about it.

Total class act.Comment

#16Fuk, I am old. I still have nightmares of his Chiefs beating my Vikes.

To be honest, they were much better, but if the Vikes had kept Tarkenton, they may have had a chance.

1st of 4 SB beats. Just brutal remembrances.Comment

#17It is so hard to see the great players of my and some of our youth dying off.

Gotta happen but it's tough.

I'll never forget watching Len Dawson "matriculate" the ball down the field.

Thanks for the memories sir.

#24

RIP Lenny Dawson. Many hardened LV gamblers believed Dawson was "doing business" with bookies as KC QB. Some Chiefs games were off the board in 1968. In the 80’s I revisited this with help from NFL security, the FBI and talking to old time bookies.
