One story for you on bonds. At riverfront colleseum they were serving pizza in the clubhouse. But bonds wanted chicken. Dave Parker owned Popeyes chicken. So he asked 3 different clubhouse attendants if they would go get for him. Three white kids said no because it was where the riots were the year before. He cornered a black kid to go get it for him. So kid goes down pays for it with his money. He comes back to see Bonds munching on pizza. Bonds tells him he no longer wants and wouldn’t even give the kid his money back.

If the drugs Bonds was using really provided a significant performance enhancement, that means Bonds is unquestionably the greatest athlete ever. In the years before Bonds ever used drugs, there was no testing in MLB and no enforcement of any drug policy. All the pitchers he faces and all the other batters who were competing for awards were perfectly free to use drugs; Sosa, Caminiti, and Canseco all won MVPs, McGwire had already hit 457 homeruns before Bonds ever used drugs. And Bonds was better than all of them. He had a WAR of 100 through age 33, before he ever used drugs. That's equal to Mantle and slightly below Mays and Aaron through their age 33 seasons. But those players were not competing against drug-uses. Imagine if someone spent 13 years beating Lance Armstrong without using drugs, while Lance had as much EPO, hgh, anabolics, and blood transfusions as he could possibly handle. That is the equivalence of what Bonds did.
