I know this doesn't seem like much of a story... but it's what Chris Ilitch said during the interview that blew my mind.
He said I didn't tell Avila to trade Justin Verlander and J.D. Martinez. Al did it on his own.
This is the biggest bold faced lie.... ever since the old man died.... The Ilitch family has been running a shi# show! They exclusively told Avila to reduce the payroll to league lows.... they also did this for the Detroit Red Wings. Records for both teams are self explanatory. They gave Avila a set figure to work with.... he had his hands tied for years.
The entire Ilitch family can go to hell. They don't care about Championships anymore... they just care about revenue.
