Historic Day Internet Explorer Retired by Microsoft
As of Wednesday, Microsoft will no longer support the once-dominant browser that legions of web surfers loved to hate — and a few still claim to adore.

The 27-year-old application now joins BlackBerry phones, dial-up modems and Palm Pilots in the dustbin of tech history.

If true that's a good thing for starters.

I hate having Microsoft Edge browser popping up on my computers every time I start them up. I hated microcrap for doing that! My browser is Firefox.

That's the year I went to college and this is what they had back then. Netscape!

The mother of all web browsers!

IE has been a bottom end of the market browser for the past 12 years. For the last few years it was an optional extra on Win10 that people could manually remove without it automatically re-installing. The only reason to have it on your PC is that it could still display legacy shockwave flash .gif & other image files that no longer work on modern formats. That was safer than re-installing Adobe Flash which was open to multiple exploits.
