I wonder if that little exchange had anything to do with him getting canned today?

After hearing it, I didn't think it was that big of a deal but some seemed to be upset by it.

But theres more to it then that though. Think about at work if you hate your boss, do you work harder? Probably not. But if you like who is around maybe you care just a little bit more. Also sometimes these managers cling to certain players and dont allow others their opportunity. Maddon honestly is overrated in my opinion. He got alot of credit for Tampa and once he left Tampa is still doing what they do. With the Cubs that team was bought and also loaded with talent. Maddon just had to show up. I think his coaching style is lazy and sometimes he thinks hes smarter than everyone else.
Different sport but i remember when the Penguins finally fired Dan Bsylma and went with Mike Sullivan and he had the guts to sit Fleury and play Matt Murray(obviously Murray isnt really any good now) which helped lead them to 2 cups.
