#37With all due respect to the reigning Poster of the Month (congrats, by the way) I will submit that in the mid 90s, George Foreman (age 45) defeated Michael Moorer (age 26) for the heavyweight title.Originally posted by ChuckyTheGoat*Luv2, I love oddsmaking questions like this. Would be happy to provide my response.
First off, Boxing is the "sweet science." As an observer, I always took this to mean that the learning curve is larger for Boxing than other sports. If either of you have pugilism experience, that's a big factor.
There's a lot of hidden info that you haven't revealed. Physical statistics like REACH. Any untold health factors?
First off, the fact that YOU might accept the fight tells me that you think you might WIN this fight. But I'll approach this from an average skill/age perspective.
Let's start with the weight. You're giving up twenty pounds, which is at least two weight classes. Can you beat a bigger man?
Bigger factor is the AGE discrepancy. It's said that a male normally gets stronger until age 35. If true, your opponent is just past that peak...but you are well past it.
Final verdict. Opening odds: OPPONENT -1400, you +1200.Comment -

#38With all due respect Delly, George foreman was a world class boxer, as far as we now Lov2 is a wheelchair in a convalescent home. 📠Originally posted by deltgenWith all due respect to the reigning Poster of the Month (congrats, by the way) I will submit that in the mid 90s, George Foreman (age 45) defeated Michael Moorer (age 26) for the heavyweight title.Comment -

#40Salud, nice retort. George was a different animal. I really think he aged at a rate different to most humans.Originally posted by deltgenWith all due respect to the reigning Poster of the Month (congrats, by the way) I will submit that in the mid 90s, George Foreman (age 45) defeated Michael Moorer (age 26) for the heavyweight title.
That is one hell of a tidbit. Very nice winner for a man in his mid-40s.
It's one thing to be 45. Another thing to be 68. Things are receding by age 68.
There's a saying that the forces of mortality are impossible to slow down. Unless he's some freak athlete, I don't see how a 68-year could be expected to compete.
That's why they play the games. Props if he CAN beat a 40-year old.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -
