What has Embid ever won besides scoring this year (barely) by 0.7 points mainly because he flopped his way to the free throw line a dozen times a game and takes more than a third of his teams shots from the field.
And for a low post player he missed more than half his shots.
And for a so called 'elite' defender as some no-nothings call Embid, you would think some writer, any writer would have given him a DPOY vote. 'Elite' defenders get at least one DPOY vote, and the only reason he got a singular second place DPOY vote in 2021 (and a couple of booby prize votes) is because of a Philly homer voter.
Embid's a horrible distributor, and not as good a rebounder as Gobert.
Now that Giannis is a C/PF, not PF/C Embid is at best the third best center in the NBA today.
I'm not calling him rubbish, but vastly overrated.Comment -

Gobert overall is NOT better than Embid.
What Gobert is is a once in a generation defender, but he can't score like Embid can.

And that's going to be the legacy here, "oh sure he could have been an all time great, if it wasn't for this pull, or that sprain"
But as of now, Jokic and the Greek are the elite centers.Comment -

#20Open question to all you trend bettors?
Knowing Doc's history in these situations do you fade the trend and bet Philly tonight?
I read the transcript of the River's presser last night, Doc was pretty much cranky saying "How come you writers always bring up how I choke away 3-1 leads instead of giving me credit for getting the three wins"? (not his exact words but that what he was implying)
Jeez, not only is Rivers a shitty coach he's not much of a spin doctor either.Comment -

#23Danny Ainge made some good moves and some bad moves in his tenure in Boston, but that was the best one. Why anyone thought Fultz was worth a No. 1 pick was insane.
He also took heat for the Jalen Brown pick, which I also thought was bad. He was right on that one too.
Where Ainge constantly messed up was stockpiling all those late first round and second round picks, which amounted to nothing. I remember one year Boston had 3 picks in the Top 20, and they selected all foreign players who never saw any playing time.

#25He also said "we were up 3-1 against Detroit and they won the title."
No, they didn't. They won the title the next year.
Where Doc royally screwed up was the second finals with the Lakers, up 3-2 heading to LA, Boston pulls a complete no-show in Game 6, then blows a double digit lead in the second half with Kobe shooting like 6-for-30 for the game. Still can't believe they lost that series.

#27Yeah, that was Portland's spin when they passed on Michael Jordan, we needed a center. Of course, Sam Bowie was a one-legged player at 22, other than that, he was solid.

#34[QUOTE=stevenash;30860740]Embiid is not built for 7 game series. Eventually, he's going to wear down and fold like a cheap suit. He's in a dogfight with Toronto. He'll be in a gunfight with just a knife against the Heat. Then he'll be walking across a land mine vs Boston or Milwaukee.Originally posted by Easy-Rider 66What has Embid ever won besides scoring this year (barely) by 0.7 points mainly because he flopped his way to the free throw line a dozen times a game and takes more than a third of his teams shots from the field. And for a low post player he missed more than half his shots.

Embiid needs to lose about 30 pounds. He's too heavy and that takes a toll on a big frame like his. Slim down and muscle tone up in order to take the grind of 4 game 7 series. Every game, you see him hunched over, totally exhausted. He needs a nutritionist and a cardio trainer. I'm not sure he's that committed however. James Harden certainly is not.Comment -
