Ironically enough, the biggest shutout in history was Pittsburgh over Chicago 22-0 in 1975.

Carries the same value as a 1 run win. It's not like soccer were goals differential matters.

So if you play 3 games in MLB and lose one 21-0 and win other two 1-0 you won the series.

They let Diego Castillo a rookie prospect pitch the 8th. He couldn’t throw a strike. The ump was very liberal with the zone to get the game over. They scored 5 that inning even with a double play. This could have been worse.
