    Jake Arrieta retires
Nobody mentioned it, so here it is.

He has one of the weirdest career arcs you'll ever see. Sucked for years, became legendary great for a few seasons between ages 28-30, and then sucked again.

Has the greatest 30 game pitching stretch in MLB history. In a 30-start stretch between 2015-16, he was 25-1 with two no-hitters, 1.13 ERA, .156 OBA, 0.76 WHIP and a Cy Young.

          Right?

          How'd he do it KingDigits?

What exactly are the dates of that stretch? I want to run some analysis and show just how amazing that was.

Shit is highly suspect at the very least, but I give him credit. Credit is still due...lol.

Did the batters figure him out?

              Did he juice?

Did he do something really that potentially rare, even if it had never been done before?

Is it just speed and control related?

I dunno. There is data to at least research and make a "case" for answers to all those, whatever the data shows.

We've all seen that running QB surpirse the NFL real quick, run through playoffs or a season, maybe break records because defenses weren't ready.

              Then what eventually happens?

They "figure him out" and he either struggles to keep the game plan or keeps the gameplan and gets hurt.

Imagine surpirsing the league, while on the sauce, then declining in that area and then getting figured out by your opponents. A double dip.

Like I said, I don't know what the data says, but I know there is date to formulate a case to those questions above, all of them.
