Well, I don't regret the bet because 9 out of 10 times it was the right side to take. What I saw last night was highly unusual. The Celtics are certainly on another level. They can go all the way and even win the Championship if they keep playing defense like that, and are as hot on the road tossing up 3's. Having Williams back, even on limited and not 100%, was filing gaps for them. It made them thicker on D. So thick that the Nets couldn't get inside, and were often forced to make iffy shots. The C's are bigger than probably all teams but that bigness doesn't come at the expense of shooting, passing or speed.

The Nets kept pulling in within a possession or two, but then it was the Celtics shooting that kept nullifying the Nets progress. It was inspiring to see Blake Griffin play so well. Durant was neutralised. The Celtics are too big and coached too well. They know how to play D in today's NBA without committing fouls. I kept wondering why Durant didn't try more often to get in the paint. I thought he could have done his backwards dribble and eeked in there, but probably not. The turnovers on Nets are all about that Celtics attack defense. They are like scorpions.

I won't be on Game 4, even though the Celtics should win. I don't like the 7 game series in Round 1. It's been a long time since they were 5, but after a team is up 3-0 it should be over. It looks like Durant is finished as a solo force. He's no Lebron. He's getting past his prime, and playing at Golden State made him softer. Still, the win says everything about Boston. Can they keep it at this level? It sure looks that way.

I still have Philly series at -190, and Warriors to win West at +160. Just one would get most of this loss back, if both, well into profit. I'll be grinding back the 19% BR loss this week. This is won money for me, so it's not the same as a starting BR. I haven't made a deposit since October of last year. Anyway.. you all saw how extraordinary this year's Celtics team is right now, and hats off to them.
