torn between Celtics and Nets, Shaq and Chuck
After the Nets seemed a tad too dependent on Kyrie and Durant, no surprise but a team like Boston
that has their shit together is going to be hard to beat. Those stretches of time when Durant or Irving
aren't on the floor can see Boston build on leads and creep up from behind.
Shaq seems to lean Nets unless Brown and Tatum play truly great but Chuck is EMPHATIC that Boston will beat the Nets. I sense Chuck's Celtics pick does make more basketball sense... but it's hard to go against KD and Kyrie, esp. KD.

It would be easier if the C's weren't favorites, although certainly not prohibitive at -160
for the series with hc advantage. I have to lean C's because the argument that too much is on two guys
shoulders they can't carry it four wins.. I know the C's will be a royal pain in the azz to beat.
    But I still hesitate.
If Phily wins game 1 I might move that into this, cuz I have Philly series also...
what do you guys think about this
    Barkley is ADAMANT.

100 percent nets. Barkley is clueless. Williams out for the series. I don’t even think this is even worth thinking about. Simmons is going to come back by game 4 and that will be the end of Tatum. Simmons can’t shoot and won’t need to on the nets but he will help with all the intangibles which is exactly what they want.
And when things aren’t going perfect for Tatum he plays hero ball and it’ll be another worthless season with him on the team

I was going off memory having watched it live the other night, but I just changed the first post.
Shaq sees it differently than Chuck, and did not pick a winner. All he had was that Tatum and Brown will be motivated
to show they can go head to head against KD and Kyrie and put up huge numbers. But he's not saying they will actually do so,
only that they will "have to"... I think that means he would fade them if he had to put money on it. He's not going to commit until he sees that happen.
Chuck's pick is more about Smart's D and fading the Nets on roster being too dependent on 2 guys, and even the Ramadan issue for Kyrie.

Hopefully a great series, feels like this NBA playoffs for first round anyway is the best in years maybe ever. So many match ups that imo could go either way.

To your question though the Net's look a sucker bet at that line but bookies aren't always right.

I don't see any sharp vs. square angle on this series

unless you think the Celtics are now square just because Barkley moved the line.

Most of the times they agree on a side but one always decides to go with the opponent because that will make it a competition between the two. The back and forth squabble makes good television.

Chuck is the worst handicapper ever. He just picks things to promote his tv persona. Every once in a while he is really right but do not bet on it.

Amazes me even guys who play the game can't figure it out.

Even Pete Rose who managed his team and knew things nobody else did managed to lose money.

My concentration is on Philly vs Raptors and then I'll go with another NBA or NHL.
