Really isn't the testosterone most of the time. Just the fact of having that much muscle and dieting down to less than 5% body fat puts tremendous strain on the heart and other organs. Being a professional competition bodybuilder is one of the worst thing you can do to your body.

Crossed paths with some friends who took Steroids at a young age for sports performance. Two suicides at very young ages.

Lot's of juice is hard on the heart. Not surprising to see. Even Arnold had a bit heart trouble lately. Can't juice like that and expect to live a long life.

Lou stopped juicing a long time ago. I see him riding his electric bike in Santa Monica. He's old now and looks it. Legs and calves are veiny and gross looking.

You are right Chi and it's more competitive then ever now today. It's like who can take the most stuff to win now!
My nephew was a professional bodybuilder and was doing all that shit. He started at 16 years of age and won contests and was hooked, when he turned 23 he was huge and lean but started feeling chest pains and had a hard time breathing at times. He decided to quit and shrunk. He's 30 years old today and has to take test shots regularly that are legally administered by his doctor for the rest of his life just to keep his testosterone levels at a normal level.
That all happened from trying to become a competitive professional bodybuilder and pumping high doses of testosterone and steroids and other stuff for just 7 years of his young life...
That profession is deadly IMO and should be banned now!

That is the main problem between 13-20 year olds who already have it surging than adding on to it. Not to mention their brains haven't fully developed yet. Even in most of those tragic cases there is usually booze, antidepressants, and street drugs added to the mix.

Exactly, Arch. Very well-said.
The human body is designed to be a pretty simple machine. It's not meant to be overloaded.
Look at some of the NFL Offensive Linemen that go into retirement. Guys like Matt Birk lose 80 pounds in 12 months and start running. Smart guy.

Let's see how the MMAers hold up. Some take over 100 significant head strikes in a single fight, cannot be good for longevity...
