His Aristoctats joke at the 2001 Friars Club might have actually saved comedy (till the libs destroyed it a decade later w cancel culture).

It was a roast of Heff I think, but it was just after 9/11 and Noone was in the mood to laugh...so he switched his shit mid stream and went off the script, rattling off 5 minutes of one of the oldest, yet most funny jokes ever- told in such a way that ONLY Gilbert could have done it.
