Would you have hedged this way?
Kraken and Kings. I already liked the Kraken to begin with but I only made one bet pre game, $40 on 3 way 1st period at +250. It was 2-1 seattle after 1.

After the period I was looking at live bets and I felt like the Kraken were gonna score a bunch more and felt like the kings had a good chance of laying a turd the rest of the game. So I saw correct score options which I rarely do because they are hard to hit and not a good bet but I was fking around and chose 6:1 for 200-1. I almost did 5:2 but the value sucked as it was only 15-1 I believe. I wanted the longer odds and I legit felt like the kings might not score again.
So whatever, took a flyer, no way kraken score 6 on the kings but I said fk it. Bet 5 on it, changed it to 10, then back to 5 because I said "no way that shit is gonna hit, just do 5"...5 to win 1000 (stupid me cost myself another 1000 trying to save 5 bucks)

I fall asleep and in the 3rd I wake up and its 5-1 kraken and im like holy shit these guys are dominating the kings like they're the ones in the playoff hunt. Logon and check my ticket and theres a cashout value of 110. I was thinking about it but there was still 10 minutes left so I said nah lets keep going. Kings haven't scored at this point since the 1st why start now.
6 and change to go and kraken score to make it 6-1. Nice lol. Now my cashout is at 495. I said shit I have to right? Over 7.5 was +110 right then.

A minute goes by and I decide I want to hedge for less. Over 7.5 goals was now +125 so i did 200 to win 250. Another minute and its now +140. So I did 36 to win 86. 3 minutes go by and now it was +225. So I did another 14 to win 31.50. So a total of 250 hedged to win 367ish if either team scores a goal. Or I collect the 1000 and make a 750 profit. Luckily the score held. Just kicking myself for not putting the extra 5. But then I guess I woulda hedged more.

How would you have hedged? Cashed out the 495 asap? Prematurely cash out the 110 when it was 5-1?

Dumb bet to begin with. No need to prep for that next 6-1 hedge. Good hit

Like I said, I was messing around. Normally when I like a dog live I try to get on them -1 early when its tied at big plus odds and hope to have a lead and maybe get an empty net at the end if necessary or worst case push if it goes to ot and they win it. It worked out last week with Vancouver at the avs. Avs were a decent chalk and I liked the way the canucks were playing defensively so I grabbed them -1 +500 for 200. They were up 2-0 right after then the avs made it 2-1 and it stayed that way for a while so I was able to grab avs +1 at plus money so no matter what I was profiting or pushing. Nucks got the empty netter to get me the win.

Hedging is usually a bad thing; you have tremendous value with the exact score and only six minutes to go, especially given that teams don't pull the goalie when they're down by five goals.
