Empower Field at Mile High Stadium -- the home of the Denver Broncos -- caught on fire on Thursday ... and images from the scene are alarming.
No word on what caused the blaze ... but Denver Fire says suite and third-level areas of the stadium seats underneath John Lynch's spot on the Ring of Fame were affected.
Several sections of the stadium were destroyed ... but luckily, DFD says the fire has since been put out, thanks to sprinklers and brave firefighters.

Mile High opened in 2001 ... and has hosted Broncos games, concerts and soccer matches. It could become one of the game locations for the 2026 World Cup.

Brock, you are correct. I thought of Mile High as the OLD stadium and Invesco as the NEW stadium.

I now see that they've changed the name on the NEW stadium 4x. Who TF rents the name of a stadium? Seems lame to me. Can you imagine Soldier Field selling out to a new name? Or Wrigley Field?

Can you imagine if this happened during a game? What burns so fast? The seats should be made of concrete so they wouldn't burn like this. This is why the Coliseum in Rome still stands after 2,000 years. The Romans were smarter.
