I like Belgium again this time. I rode them last world cup and obviously lost there to france in the semis I think. I like Argentina too, but I'm not impressed by too many other teams.
Belgium wasn't healthy in the euro cup and they still were close to winning. Du Bruyne was hurt, Hazard was hurt, a couple other key players were hurt, Witzel I think. This time, if they're all healthy, it's gonna hard to see anyone stopping them. Several elite players all in their primes, and then they have this 19 year old kid who is sure to win best young player of the tournament. Doku. They have a top 4 goalie. Disagree, most of the time, the best roster wins the world cup. Not always, but usually. Brazil won those cups with straight up stacked teams. I mean, look at that roster, it's ridiculous and unfair.
France won theirs when they were stacked. Or even the old france teams with Zidane Henry Vierra Maluda all those guys, they were stacked. Spain had the best roster we've ever seen on paper when they won their cup. There's never been a world cup where two of the best players in the world in Silva and Torres came off the bench, Fabregas sometimes too, that's how filthy stacked they were. When the Germans beat ARgentina they were loaded. World class players at every position. Argentina only made it to the finals on the sheer will of the best player ever.
When is the last time a non stacked team won the world cup? It hasn't happened as long as I've been alive I don't think. I don't know about what happened in the 60s and shit roster wise.
When the Dutch were good it was because they had Robben Shneider and Van Persie, 3 world class unstoppable forces.
