#4Numbers are really tight. I really don't think it's a game to get big money down, at least not right now. I maybe have found 2 props that I'm remotely interested in, but I'm waiting.

#7Maybe $100 including some props. I'm not in this to make money and even if I were the Super Bowl doesn't seem like the best chance. I've found having $50 on a game makes me care and be entertained just as much as $500 but with much less downside.

I started the year with $100 in my Bovada account, bottomed out to zero on Thanksgiving (but with a pending "hail Mary" parlay), won that and am now up to $600 thanks to some good fortune betting NBA ml parlays.Comment

#12I played a couple zippers (basically squares but just 10 slots) on championship weekend and won both. Drew 1 for the first game and 7 for the second. 1:100 chance of winning both. I have a third one for SB and pulled 7. If I hit that one it would be a 1:1000 (not that the payout is that great or anything). If nothing else it gives me a reason to go see the smoking hot bartender at my local watering hole.Originally posted by VeggieDogI bought a square for $25. My numbers are 9 and 4.Comment

 #24Not betting the side.
I can make a case for Bengals losing but covering the game, and I can make a case for LA money line.
I think LA wins the game but it'll be close.

I like the under a little bit.
 IDK. maybe 40 bucks.

I'll beak down the props later.

 Most bettors are dopes.
I don't know why a lot of them feel compelled to shove all in when it's the Super BowlComment

#31Of course Bud, we both know mine was a rhetorical question.Originally posted by budwiserLast game. Football bettors wait until September. And it's the game with the most ca$h from the public on it-by far.

My point is if one has the need to make an 'all in' wager just because it's the final game of the season then one might want to think about looking into a new hobby, that this sports thing just might not be for you.

I'm MLB junkie, but love my NFL as well.
I'm a lifelong NYG homer, love my Big Blue.
We can't suck enough these days, still won't miss a game, love 'em to death.
Still doesn't stop me from fading the boys when the spot is right being the spot bettor that I am.

("Where you going with this Nasher" you might be thinking.)

16 regular season games (now 17)
In the past 20 years, I miss one, at the most NYG games.
TV, not a ticket holder, would be nice but there's a waiting list.

That's 30 games (give or take) I've missed in the last 320.
I know who they can beat, how they can lose, etc.
I'm nothing special, all you have to do is be an astute sports fan and pay attention

The last Super Bowl game I ever had a real strong opinion on was the Giants and Simms vs. John Elway's Bronco's.
(So that would put me no younger than 48 and older than 88.)
I saw every Giants game that year, if you paid attention to Parcels defense and special teams that season you would have known going in that was going to be a problem.

Long story short, Simms put on a clinic, Giants had held Elway at 20, and you could have turned off the game in the 1Q when the NYG drew first blood.

Yet most casual fans I knew were like "Giants ain't beating Denver by 10 or more, Elway getting 9.5 is lock city"
I was like "Don't do it man, stay away, there's a reason why the line is 9.5"

That was the only time I ever made a 'real' wager on the SB.
And I am the furthest thing from a big time whale.Comment

You're right if you spend the entire football season and go all-in for the Super Bowl, you're not exactly sharp imo

100% disagree with that statement. My best game in my life the last 10 years has been the Super Bowl. This year is not my favorite (from what my capping has shown) so I won't max bet the side or the total. However, last year I had 6k and turned it into 14k going all-in. I don't feel the same way this year as I did last year for many reasons.

There are, out there, some people that their expertise is the Super Bowl. I know one guy, known him for 15 years.....he won 60k off of 10k one time.

Its also the biggest handle of any other game all year long. So, if you're on the right side; its the best time to put in a big bet. 100%.Comment

This was the easiest Super Bowl to cap that I can remember. Will have a play Sunday.

Biggest wagers are playoffs and Super Bowl. My guess is you're like me, football then mostly the offseason. You can't do this s year round.Comment
