    Clippers just robbed the Blazers.
The Clippers are trading Eric Bledsoe, Justise Winslow, Keon Johnson and future second-round pick to the Trail Blazers for Norman Powell and Robert Covington, sources tell ESPN.

Other teams should get on the phone with the Blazers before they sober the fuk up.

Major win for the Clippers here.

Powell is good and his contract is cheap, Covington isn't consistent. Portland was able to move Covington's contract which is a plus even though they had to give up Powell.

I don't see the trade as a big win for either side, both are sellers who aren't contending this year.

Clippers and Lakers both need to shake up their rosters. Both suck ass this year and are a disgrace. All star players keep getting injured and are just to old now on both teams. Both benches extremely suspect as well.

Now talking about the Blazers - Most players don't want to play in Portland, can't believe Lillard and Mccollum stuck in there this long. It's a two man show and they need help.

They are under the luxury tax right now. Since Anfernee Simmons is the guy the think is their #3, they have leeway to dump the long term Powell contract. Freeing up cap space for next year, is a salary dump. Bledsoe, Winslow and Johnson won’t even be on the roster next year. Prob not even later this year.

Couldn't hurt to grab some futures on the Clips. Leonard and George could be coming back.

Its not a salary dump because the salaries are the same - again exactly the same. A salary dumb is dumping contracts and not getting contracts of equal or great value in exchange. The teams situation with the luxury tax is the same as before the deal.

The Powell contract is a good contract and is very small at 12 million per year - the bad contract is the Covington contract. To dump the Covington contract they had to include the Powell contract, which again, is a good contract that is small.

Salary dump means you dump salary for less than equal value, these contracts are equal value right now.

Portland will be trash next year, Lillard has to look at this deal and think about leaving, its very hard to attract top free agents to markets like Portland.

Powell was their third best player and Simmons plays no defense, he's nothing special.

I can't believe I have to explain what salary dump is, you are this dumb. A salary dump is dumping salaries and not getting salaries back. That's not what happened here. The salaries literally match up perfectly, which obviously isn't a conincidence.

Thank God the Blazers got another PG in Bledsoe.... what's that now, 4? That team was poorly run under Paul Allen and even worse under his sister. I'm from Portland and aside from a couple years the Blazers just suck. It's never going to be a destination for free-agents but they could certainly do better with trades. Lillard could have attracted some players a few years ago but that window is closing (and if he's smart he'll get the hell out of there). Why they have hung onto his doppelganger McCollum this long is mind-blowing. Portland will NEVER win anything with that starting backcourt. They play absolutely zero defense.

Yeah agree, the biggest problem in Portland has always been dame and CJ play no defense, and players set culture not coaches. Portland had plenty of solid defensive players like Covington, Powell, and Nurkic, they were always at the bottom of the league defensively.

You honestly can’t be this dumb, can you? When they don’t sign them NEXT YEAR that money will be off their books. The whole purpose is dumping salary. It doesn’t matter if it’s now, next year, or 2-3 years. The sole purpose is to get rid of that salary going forward.

Do you get it now, Moron?

The whole purpose is dumping salary. It doesn’t matter if it’s now, next year, or 2-3 years. The sole purpose is to get rid of that salary going forward.

Bledsoe's contract matches the contracts of Powell and Covington and Bledsoe in under contract next year.

                                                  Bledsoe's contract goes through 2023.

                                                        Hahahaha... If you think so.

Funny how all the NBA talking heads are saying just that.

Normall Powell will have about 72 million dollars remaining on his contract after this year. Covingont's contract is up at the end of this season.
Bledsoe has one more year remaining on his deal at round 30 million.

This was not a salary dump, not close, the Blazers took on 30 million in contracts and they got rid of Powell's contract which had an additional 3 years left on it after this season.

A salary dump would be dumping contracts for little to no value. That's absolutely not what happened here.

Its a good trade for the Clippers, Bledsoe sucks and he's been one of the most overrated players in the NBA for years. Its not a salary dump though.

Milwaukee never would have won a title if they didn't dumb Bledsoe for Holiday.
